I use Moodle every day at work, so why do I have a personal Moodle set up here? Simple. I can't really "play" on the work Moodle, because if I break it bad things will happen. People won't be happy. Not good.

So rather than take risks with a full production environment, I've set this Moodle server up where I can just fiddle around, try new blocks and modules, and generally experiment with it.

I'll also use this site to develop Moodle courses that can be made available here, or restored into other Moodles. If you'd like to poke about in here, just create yourself an account and go for it.

Available Courses

  • A course with lots of samples for the various Moodle modules. This will become a reference for me to showcase how many of the various standard (and non standard) modules work within Moodle.
  • Interested in knowing more about podcasts, how they work and how to use them with your students? This self-paced course will take you through the things you need to know to start podcasting in your classroom, from original concept to final distribution.
  • Designed for those who don't know much about this "Web 2.0" thing but would like to learn. This online course will lead you on an journey of discovery through some of the most useful tools of the new Web.You will gain a greater understanding of the read/write web, social networking and online culture.
  • This course allows guest users to enter
A course full of activity, resource and block samples. Feel free to look at all the different activity types to get a feel for what they do. Like most things in Moodle, there are more options than I could possibly enable, but it might give you a bit of an idea for what's possible.
  • A sandpit area for my friend Margie to play in. smile

This Moodle is new (and quite empty at the moment)

Hello.

I'm moving some of my Moodle resources to this new site, but there's not much here yet. (Almost nothing actually!)

I'll be adding content here over the next little while, and developing some courses that I hope people will find useful.

Mainly I just wanted to have my own Moodle to mess about with so I don't have to do all my experimenting with the real one at work! Feel free to poke around here.

Chris
